About the Perth and District Advanced Motorists.

The Perth and District Advanced Motorists are committed to improving driving skills by preparing drivers for the Advanced Driving Test.

The Advanced Driving Test is administered by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and is approved by the Driving Standards Agency. The test takes around 90 minutes, which includes a briefing and debriefing by an examiner who also holds the Police Advanced Driving Certificate. Where possible all types of roads will be included within the test route.

Services

Skill for Life
The Perth and District Advanced Motorists operate the Skill for Life package by the IAM, this includes theory lessons and practical sessions to develop your driving to the standard required for the advanced test.

This normally takes up to 12 weeks, based on one session of about 90 minutes each week.

Drive Check
Drivers who wish to have their driving assessed to advanced standard can enrol for a Drive Check from the IAM. The Perth and District Advanced Motorists will provide the assessment that is based on the advanced test and includes a full debrief.

Those who have a Drive Check qualify for a reduction in the cost of the Skill for Life package.

Advanced Driving Talks
The Perth and District Advanced Motorists provide talks on advanced driving for community safety groups and other voluntary organisations.
